Course Description: This course will provide a broad understanding of the fundamental principles of Biology and willgive treatment to the specific areas of experimental design,
biochemistry, human physiology, reproduction and development,modern genetic, modern evolution and ecology.These concepts are developed through appropriate laboratory
experiences which emphasize the disciplined approach ofthe scientist.Homework: Assigned on a regular basis, 4-5 assignments per week.
Summer Assignment: None
Assessments: Assessments for this course will includetests, quizzes, laboratory assignments, homework and classparticipation. Students are required to take a New York StateRegents examination in June. The laboratories will be reflected (written questions) as part of the June Regents Examination. Projects and otheralternative assessments will be an integral part of the students’ evaluation.
